Is the moon tired ? She looks so pale
Within her misty veil ;
She scales the sky from east to west 
And takes no rest.

Before the coming of the night 
The moon shows papery white; 
Before the dawning of the day,
She Fades away.

ये चाँद थक चुका है क्या ?
लगे है आज मुझको वो बुझा-बुझा सा  ज़र्द-ज़र्द 
छुपा है बादलों में वो
फिरे है बेक़रार सा वो फैले आसमान में
कभी इधर कभी उधर
ये रात जब न आई थी तो कुछ चमक थी चाँद में
सुबह जो होने आई तो, ये चाँद भी धुन्धला गया ।
